In the dark of the evening I will be your friend In the dark of the evening I will hold your hand In the dark of the evening Don't let me stand In the dark of the evening Let me be the end Oh don't you turn away and leave me here fighting At the end of the day who will know what you were hiding You want to see it work but you won't resist the hurt Turn to me now, don't leave, not while the fire is lighting In the dark of the evening I will be your friend In the dark of the evening I will hold your hand In the dark of the evening Don't let me stand In the dark of the evening Let me be the end Oh nothing comes to easy I'll tell you how it feels At the end of the day who can say that it was too real When your words are far too hard, to hard for you to hear Your light is here, I'm near, never spread that fear In the dark of the evening I will be your friend In the dark of the evening I will hold your hand In the dark of the evening Don't let me stand In the dark of the evening Let me be the end ©2021 The Art Crimes Band, courtesy of Slapstar, a division of SUGO Music Group.

When I woke up this morning your eyes they took me by surprise Don't pretend you didn't notice as we danced alone to Otis and don't pretend this all well ever be Open up your heart to me dear you've got me going crazy bittersweet harmony Promise me you won't walk away ill risk it all for another day and promise ill never let you down Mirror Mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all it's just you, you now oh oh I don't want a love that's just a memory Just open up your sweet heart to me Don't pretend you didn't notice as we danced alone to Otis and don't pretend this is all we'll ever be Mirror Mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all it's just you, you now oh oh Mirror Mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all it's just you, you now oh oh And all this time you've seen its always been a joy to me so pick me up and shake these feelings from the ground Mirror Mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all it's just you, you now oh oh ©2015 The Art Crimes Band, courtesy of Slapstar, a division of SUGO Music Group.

about

Recorded during 2020, 'In The Dark Of The Evening' attempts to channel the late night soundscapes of the early 1980s L.A. studio "golden era" pioneered by the likes of Quincy Jones, Toto and Steely Dan, with production at the hands of Flashpointcc and Fender Rhodes-heavy arrangement by Shiori Okawa. The single addresses mental health and the effects of isolation. The song's lyrics offer a message of hope, love and friendship amidst a tuneful melody and deep funky groove reminiscent of D'Angelo, Jill Scott and Stevie Wonder.
